Recently my 1990 325i (125,000 mi) started losing coolant into oil. The head has been off; gasket was OK. Head was checked (I think the mechanic checked it visually) and so we took a chance that it would be OK with new gaskets, bolts. The probalem has returned - it loses quite a lot of coolant out of reservoir once thermostat opens. With new heads costing $1,500 plus labour I'm wondering if it's worth fixing?
