I have a 1997 E36 318i. And I am thinking about buying a M3 type on board computer with the fuel Consumtion etc etc.

I have outside temp/digital type already fitted, but how many of the new functions will work and what other fittings will I need, Extra plugs etc.

i tried doing that on my 95 325i with an 11 button on board computer swaping it with an 18 button but come to find out that it needs another wiring harness for the white receptacle on the 18 button. unfortunately, my car did not have the extra harness and the dealership here in japan will not upgrade
