Got any favorite driving songs? Not songs about driving; songs that
make you want to drive fast. Here are just five of mine, becuase
the full list would be looooong. Discography and comments are not necessary. I just got caught up in the idea.

Of all of the covers of this song this is the Best!

The "Blood Rave" Song from the movie "Blade" (starrring Wesley Snipes). That rave music/song always get's me high-revving... regardless of the car being driven.

ZZ Top: Anything! (Especially from "Deguiello" (sp?)

I forgot who did "Beep Beep" (the little Nash Rambler), but it's a fun one to drive to, as well. Yeah, laugh if you want!

The songs don't necessarily have to be ABOUT driving, but fun to drive to! I still have several cassettes I made while in Germany of what I call "Autobahn Music" - great road tunes!

Oh, yeah...I was listening to Judas Priest's "Breaking The Law" while doing 100+ on US 50 in SW Kansas when I got pulled over by a deputy outside Garden City. This was in my '66 Dodge. The officer asked me where I was going in such a hurry, I said "Oklahoma City, sir", and he said "Why???" Come to find out, he was looking for parts for his son's '66 Charger, I was able to oblige, and he gave me a ticket for 64 in a 55 (pre-70 mph days: 1984). What could've been a $200 fine and a night in jail ended up as a $30 mail-in fine and a stern warning. I like Kansas...

I doubt anyone would appreciate my kinda music, but I like underground Houston Texas rap (or Screw which is taking a song and slowing down the pitch)... Some of the artists are Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Z-ro, Guerilla Maab... Anything like that makes me wanna drive fast... I like some alternative music... Not much tho... Anyways, im yung so plz no comments on my taste of music...

I like your line up.. but add 'Question of time' to the Depeche Mode set. It follows 'Behind the wheel' on my disk.

Also, your all gonna need some Rammstein..
(good German Stuff)
'Sonne' is my favorite Rammstein driving song.
Dont worry if you cant speak German. They'll have you singing along in no time.

Dont forget a bit of NIN.. and of course some B-52's. 'good stuff', and 'bushfire' are excellent driving tunes. and if your having some mechanical issues.. you can always play their classic 'Devil is in my Car'.

Oh, yea.. 'the Walk' .. by the 'Cure'.
Thats always good.

AND very importantly.. for special occassions.. the 'love theme', from the movie 'Bladerunner'.
Possibly the most seductive and romantic piece of music ever written. It has a way of bending reality to fits its mood..
If your just driving along by yourself.. no matter what mood your in, when that piece comes on... its like mainlining 'meloncholy', with a syringe.

definitely a 'MUST HAVE'.

When I drove back from Chicago, I put Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" and Depeche Mode's "Music For The Masses" on loop. NIN - yep, Head Like A Hole and Terrible Lies are great drivin' songs.

Oh wow, we need to get some current tunes up here too! Off the top of my head -

Song 2 by Blur... all I can picture when I hear that song is the BMW film, M5 tearing thru the city streets.

Queens of the Stone Age - great driving songs on each of their albums, I especially like tracks 1 & 6 on Songs for the Deaf (Millionaire & Six Shooter)

These are pretty short, but intense.

Depeche Mode is good stuff, no doubt! A lot of '80's "big hair" music is good for a road trip, too. I like Pink Floyd "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" on long, dark, two-lane winding roads! Of course, for that to happen like it should, I have to drive to Colorado!!! Or, go to eastern Oklahoma on the Talimena Drive and just drive and jam!!!

Sorry, my knowledge of most music after 1995 just ain't there, unless it's from a band I know!!!

i could go on for days, if i started listing names i dont think anyone here would understand what im talking about anyway lol.

boards of canada is great stuff, bob marley, chevelle, staind, eminem and d12. i used to be big on rap but im mostly rock and techno now. i even listen to some country. pretty much whatever tickles my fancy. clubbed to death by rob dougan is awesome to drive to.
