I'm a liberal treehugging granola-munching type, but I've found that political discussions on message boards dedicated to something other than political discussions tend to go around and around and around and... until we all get burnt out. *shrug*

I used to be a liberal elitist who voted democrat until dukaka and his san francisco democrats really taught me a lesson. now I vote for the lesser evildoer and I fervently support our infidels and what they are about to accomplish in arabia felix.
I think, the liberals still occupy the moral high ground, but they dont know what to do with it and how to preserve it. And so I relish seing my dyslexic, dysphoric simpleton fearless leader shoo them off that pedestal, one step at a time. First the school issue - will the teachers union ever say uncle? then the healthcare improvement issue, now he tackles the immigration issue, tax issues we have pretty much sowed up once they are permnanent, wellfare: we made the democrats drink the poison and look what happened: doesnt exist anymore! next comes social security, the ultimate third rail.

Will be a dark year for the dems, but they asked for it.

I write that to answer this round-and-round lament:
I disagree: Look how Dean managed to mine the internet with personal discussions, letterwriting campaigns etc to rally people around himself. granted hes a madhatter. but he did it all from the bottom up, through individuals. Hitler needed big rallies, an obedient press, some brownshirts that used union tactics, to rally people around him....he got up to 40%, not much more, the rest was coerced by ignorance and disconnection.

The liberals and elite left took the faschist scripts right out of Mussolini's and Hitler's playbook, but they can use the internet. The large number of blogs play to our raw emotions like anger and fear and so the Dean folks will try to make us believe we dont recognize their tactics. We better stay connected and informed else we will be the leftover majority.

Fred

Fred.
Read a little history or political science. The liberals are on the left (read Reds) and the conservatives are on the right. Read Fascists. If we're going to have a discussion we have to be on the same page. Mussilini made the trains run on time but he also put bookoo (pronounced Bucu) people in jail w/o warrents or bothering w/ the courts. Something another guy is doing right not and no one is about to accuse him of being an efite liberal.
And , by the way, on this efite thing, what are dates of military service?

used to be like that.
but my liberal friends now are the one thing they accused me of in my youth: antisemites. role reversal? or getting dumber?
the unions who used to be on the right now are nothing but liberal elites .... but they preserved their fascist tactics. not getting smarter!
just look at the teachers union striking against innocent parents! watch them tomorrow in boston sabotaging the mayor!

All boils down to:
Anyone who is not a devoted socialist in his youth has no heart, anyone who still is as an adult has no head.
I think Churchill said that.
