The car itself (mine for the last 6 years)was originally a 1989 BMW 325is, and has only 68,000 miles on it. There are more than $24,000 worth of recent upgrades and modifications. It is powered by an extensively modified racing engine by Dinan Performance Engineering. The engine has only 6,000 miles on it. The engine has been bored out by 30 MM, and had the throw of the rods extended by 11 MM. A customized Dinan performance chip optimizes overall performance. The intake has been replaced, and the air filter was replaced by a K&N performance air filter box. The clutch was replaced with a lightweight clutch. Dinan performed a Level 3 Suspension Upgrade, including Bilstein performance struts and Koni stiff springs. Racing Dynamics strut braces eliminate torsion in the front and the rear. Brand new Pirelli P6000 high performance, low profile tires adorn the 8.5" wide Racing Dynamics 5 spoke custom rims. The brakes have been replaced with oversized Pagid crossdrilled rotors and Pagid dustless racing pads. A wind deflector quiets the air turbulence when the custom moon roof is open. Inside, the car is loaded with options for comfort- great A/C and heat, power windows, locks, mirrors, moon roof, tan leather interior, burled walnut gearshift for the 5 speed manual transmission. New exhaust and recently California smogged. It is completely street legal, but would need only a roll cage to compete in modified stock racing. My insurance company values the car at $32,000. Will sacrifice for just over half that, at $18,000- around the cost of the racing engine alone! Some pictures were taken after suspension modifications but before Dinan installed the racing engine or the performance braking system. The trunk now has a “Dinan” emblem opposite the “325is” emblem. The rotors and brake pads seen in the close up of the rim are not the new Pagid performance ones. The middle pictures are the Racing Dynamics strut braces, and the K&N air filter box.
