My faithful '86 325e of 2 plus years (with 150k) on some mornings won't start until cranking starter for 20-25 seconds. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts at 25 seconds each and then just roars to life. I've replaced plugs and timing belt in the last year and never have had any problems--I mean never. It has only ever happened first thing in the morning on average days at approximately 60 degrees. It starts great and runs perfectly the rest of the day. It also has done this only three times in the last 2-3 weeks, I just don't want it to die completely on me somewhere when not convenient. Any thoughts? Sensors, distributer cap/rotor, cold start valve, etc.?? Thanks--Paul. |
