i have a 89 525i and when i try to start it from cold it takes about 7 go,s to start it ,is there a cold start valve ,or would the idle control valve have any thing to do with this,i have replced plugs,leads,dizzy cap,rota arm any help would be great

These cars have a fuel enrichment injector in the system, that is used to start from cold. It could be any one of the components that control the operation of the injector.

I also own an '88 525i and yes I have the same problem. However sometimes it will start from cold in 1 sec and other times it takes longer. If you find out what it is I will be interested to know
