I just upgraded my Hella H4 euro-style lights with an HID H4 Hi/Low conversion. 3x the light output, and still keep the goodness of the Hella lense light pattern.
I'm happy with the lights now, got the 5k xenon lights and it is a very natural white/daylight color.
Since I got the H4 Hi/Low conversion, the xenon bulb acts as the H4 high beam also (most H4 kits are low beam only), and wow, this lights up an incredible abount when I hit the highs.
Good stuff. Apexcone HID kits available here:

I bought my Hella H4/H1 conversion here, about $145

Only issue with lights I'm having right now is I'm getting the low-beam error on the check control cause the system can't measure the resistance of the bulbs in the circuit the way it used to.
I installed a relay kit, and just one side drives the relay to enable the ballasts. Insures minimal load on the stock equipment, belts and suspenders.
