About every week I have to add 3 - 4 inchs of water to my radiator. When at idle I notice the temperature gauge hotter than normal. It is not leaking, runs perfect and does not smoke. Any ideas? |

Try having a shop pressure test the cooling system. The coolant has to be going somewhere and this is the quickest way to discover where.
Hope it is not the head gasket.
Good Luck,

Also, have you had teh profile gasket replaced. On the M42 motor, this is practically a 100% failure item. Not inexpensive to deal with either.
Hope its not that one either.

if your car has a plastic/aluminium rad check for hair line cracks around the top hose. This can lead to the top outlet shearing off
Check very carfully
