My 88 325i now has 125,xxx miles on it
and has a slight oil leak.
I am going to attempt to change the
valve cover gasket. The Bentley manual
describes a fairly simple procedure.
Are there any hidden tricks, or is there
something I need to keep in mind before
I attempt this? |

I would be certain where the leak is coming from. If you are sure it is the valve cover gasket, follow the instructions in the bentley's. More common location for a leak is around the Cam seal. It can be changed when you do you timing belt which should be soon. |

Thanks Ken for the reply.
The timing belt was done at 105,xxx.
My guess is that the gasket would have been
replaced as well.
And I can rule out the oil pan gasket
as it was done about two weeks ago.
Should I replace anything else, while I'm
in there, like washers, bolts? |
