Awesome start to my weekend. At least I got it off the highway. Feels like the shift linkage let go. Then, I started hearing a jangling noise coming from under the floorboard. I managed to coast/drive about a mile to a safe place. The shifter is just sitting there -- apparantly connected to nothing.
I just called the tow truck. Why can't this ever happen close to home? _________________ Craig

Hope it's something easy like the pin that holds the link rod to the ball thing at the top of the tranny fell out. Still a pain in the ass though. It sucks for sure. How far from home are you Craig? _________________ Cosmo - 1985 BMW 325e, Single Owner, 265,000+ ORIGINAL miles and still going strong! Just my daily commute. About 30 miles. But enough that I had it towed to a garage near my office rather than to my home. I talked to the mechanics and they know about Bavauto for parts rather than the local dealer, so they've had some experience with older BMWs. _________________ Craig
