|
|
Hello,
I have a 2001 Z3 2.2 which I have had for 3.5 years. Up to now because of a 3 yr warranty that I had on the car I have used BMW main dealers for any work.(Only had an oil change) However, I now intend to do my own sevicing.
The first jobs are a coolant and brake fluid change, I have been doing these jobs for many years on other cars but I would just like to ask a couple of questions.
With the brake fluid change do I have to worry about the ABS/ ASC+ T unit. On other cars with ABS I have just bled the brakes in the normal way i.e. rear wheels first pump the brake pedal 8 or 9 times and move on etc is the Z3 different in any way?
The second question refers to air lock in the coolant system is the Z3 cooling system prone to airlock.
Hope you can help.

I've a 95 540 . I too would like to know if there is a special bleeding procedure that needs to be done on cars equipped with ASC+T ?
I have replaced rotors, calipers, pads, front caliper hoses and after all that
I ended up with a brake pedal that does not fully return. I have to use my foot to bring it up the last inch or so or the brake lights stay on....if there is a brake drag, it is very minor...My yellow/triangular light is on, on the dash but has been since I bought the car recently.
Main concern at the moment is the "non returning pedal" _________________ 95 540/6 Alusil |
