The cloth insert material on my doors has seen better days. New door inserts cost a fortune...$1200 a pair. Yup. A local auto upholstery shop was recommended. Other than that I scour e-bay. Junk yards want to sell the doors complete.

My door fabric is really shabby...so any help...Thanks.

FYI...

Since many if not most of us have this separation problem with the door inserts I believe that I've found a possible solution.

1. Used parts. Rarely do good inserts come in and when they do the price is about 250- each.

2. New from factory inserts. Don't even think about it. The cost is over a thousand dollars a pair. And, there are very, very few left in Munich and none in the USA.

3. Auto reupholster the door inserts! Shop in town with great fabric of a dark gray and a very nice touch will take care of both front doors and the rear seat 'armrest' inserts for a very reasonable price.

Will keep you posted.

It's now 9/3 and the job is done. The new inserts are beautiful. When time comes the company will do the headliner of the roof.

What sort of shop would do this? The "leather" on my driver door is pretty well loose, and I've tried adhesive.
