1997 328i BMW 185,000 miles. Expansion tank cracked is that normal with age. Anyhow had a new one put in but the small rubber line is not quite in its holder as it runs along the top near the radiator. Its hanging slightly against the radiator and near the fan. Is that a big deal! I suppose I could try to run it through without taking everything apart!! |

That is probably about the life which you can expect. What often happens is the internal dip tube inside the tank cracks. You don't see it from the outside but you start to get false low coolant indications.
If a shop did the work they should route the hose properly. I would take it back and have them do it properly on their nickel.
