The car is 328is, 1997. I have no idea how many remotes it went through but the one that it came with died on me completely. I have purchased a used one with the same Part #, FCC ID, and Canada. Using the programming flow that I have used before on my friend's car I got no confirmation from the alarm that remote got registered, chirp sound and blinking LED didn't take place during programming. Thus, it doesn't work. The seller of the remote confirmed that device has been tested and found to be in working order. The small red LED on the remote lights up at the push of the button.
Does anyone know what would be the indication of the system not being able to register another remote because it is the 5-th in quantity? Maybe someone has any suggestions what to try? Please. |

Doesn't matter how many remotes have been programmed in the past, setting up a new one wipes the memory and you can only programme any 2 at the same time. Best advice would be to run through the programming process again. If it won't programme after 3 attempts, try programming to your friend's car to see if it's the remote or your car. Be sure you are using the correct process and not going from memory as it's easy to be too confident and make a mistake. _________________ Pete

Thanks Fitz. I was able to identify my mistake in programming steps. Everything works now. |
