Hi,
In attempting to start his car, my sons igntion lock tumbler broke. The key is Ok but the switch thinks the tumbler is in the "on" position.
The key was turned to the off position and removed.
Is this a matter of just replacing the tumbler? I expect I would have to get that from the dealer so it can be ordered keyed to that vehicle VIN.
Also, can I get guidance as to the procedure for replacing the lock tumbler. My manual does not cover this.
Thanks,

Is there a small hole in the face of the ignition switch bezel? As I recall, you turn the switch to position 2, and stick a paper clip into the hole, which releases the tumbler.
A good locksmith s/b able to re-key the new tumbler. _________________
