Hi,
I'm planning to replace the clutch on my 1997 z3 1.9. I ordered a Chilton's Repair Manual (have not received yet), and can get the clutch kit for about $220.00. I know that I will need to resurface the flywheel, and I believe a throwout bearing comes with the kit, but can anyone advise on other parts such as seals that I should order separately, and if there are any special (i.e. BMW specific) tools that I will need. I am very mechanically inclined, but not a professional mechanic. I plan to do this without a lift (4 jack stands in my garage). Does anyone have any advice on other unexpected difficulties I may encounter?
Thanks,
Tom |
