|
|
Hi,
What is the difference between a 180 degree thermostat and a 70 degree thermostat for my 2002 BMW 1972? I would like to buy one and I want the best.
Thanks,
Desi |

The different temperatures correspond to the degrees at which the thermostat opens and and allows more coolant to flow. a 180 degree thermostat opens at a higher temperature. a 70 degree thermostat opens at a lower temperature, which thusly keeps the engine cooler, but runs the water pump more often. Unless you live in a real hot climate or track your 2002, I would recommend the 180 degree thermostat. |
