This past Saturday I picked up our new M5. WOW! It is indescribeable. I am experiencing one problem though - my wife prefers an automatic and when in the SMG "D" drive mode the engine bogs down shifting between 2nd/3rd and 3/4th. I understand that a slight lifting of the foot from the accelerator aids the shift but it is still an uncharacteristic BMW compromise that does not solve the problem. Any suggestions out there? _________________ Bought E40 (06' M5) on 12-19-05. Also have an '04 Z4 with S2 Dinan tuning package. The M5 SMG is problematic unless driving agressively, and there is no apparent fix. We'll have a 6 speed manual M5 later this year.
The bog may lessen as the engine breaks in. _________________
