Hi,

I'm currently having problems with tickover, the engine for some reason surges between 1100 & 1400rpms.

If I remove the electric plug from the ICV and tap the ally housing of the ICV then the rpms drops to around 650 and is steady, however the minute I replace the plug it starts surging again.

Can anyone tell me where on the car is the ICM unit.

I drive an e30 and am thinking about a 7 series which is why I'm looking through this forum. Anyway, I think the problem is in your icv. Take it out and clean it out with wd40 or an equivalent, and then put it back in. If you can clean it without removing it all the better. Should cure the problem. If it doesn't, take the icv to a shop and have them test it. If it is bad, replace it.

Have fun
Steve
