I got dynos run with the Conforti & stock chips a month ago. To my surprise, the stock chip produced +2hp and +2 ft/lbs over the Conforti chip over the entire rpm range. Well, until the stock chip hit the rev limit, of course. My engine is stock, with a cone air filter, no cats, and straight-through muffler. Huh! _________________ 1989 325is spec e30 / KP race car #31

ive got the dinan chip and (im not racing) im pretty happy..but again. i have nothing to compare it to, b/c i thought i felt a huge difference it maybe all psycological...
its sort of a pain to open the ecu and ive never even had my car dynod, is it worth it?>
what should i expect to pay? _________________ .......... |

I was surprised, too, as I'd thought I felt at least a small improvement with the chip. The dyno shouldn't lie, though. I paid $90 for 4 runs, but I've heard of groups getting runs done for under $50 per car.
This weekend at Willow Springs I tried both the stock chip & the Conforti chip. I was able to run over 1/2 a second faster with the Conforti chip, but I would chalk that up primarily to the higher rev limit which gave me another ~10 mph or so coming into, through, and ouf of turn 5, which leads onto a very long straight (4th is too high around 5, 3rd is just about right with the 7k cutout...if I could only safely rev it up to 7200 life would be perfect ). _________________ 1989 325is spec e30 / KP race car #31

i have to ask..
were you using high grade petroleum? like 91 or 93?
and if yes.
then i suppose my chip made me"feel" like it was performing better.
as when people drink non-alcaholic beer, and get drunk anyways _________________ .......... |
