|

Hi folks, I have a 1996 e39 and I am getting the asc warning light coming on generally after about 5 miles. The system is taking itself off line for some reason. The fault being recorded is "A38 - control unit plausibility" but no one at my local garage can find out what this actually means. The abs system is unaffected and works OK, so presumably not a sensor as I understand that both systems use the same sensors. Can anyone suggest a remedy that will not run to hundreds of pounds! Found the symptoms recorded on a diagnostic site as being those for non-standard wheels and tyres but mine are and always have been the original 15" equipment. Cheers Brent |
