1990 325i BMW, E30, 5spd, 2.5L M20 6cyl, 3.73 LSD.
Sterling Silber Mettalic, black vynl interior, manual sunroof.
236K Daily driver for the last 6000 miles, since January 05.
24mpg, good power, no smoke or oil usage.
No cracks in dash, interior very good, everything works, with a few little old euro car quirks. Has tear in left rear bumper cover, looks to have had the rear quarter pulled strait, front left fender and door replaced, they could have done a better job, but it looks presentable if you don't stop and look for something wrong. Has classic e-30 rust in rear trunk, from leaky tail lights usually.
This is not ready to be a daily driver, it's a project that happens to have some desirable options. It is my daily, but is about to be taken off the road due to a "funny noise" on cold starts that I believe is either piston slap or a wrist pin tapping. Noise all but goes away when warm, no other symptoms. I'm a little stumped, but I'd not sell it as a daily driver. Needs a motor, heck it needs more power anyway.
Trans and rear are great, shift well(needs bushings), just replaced flex disk and center support bearing, drives smooth and corners/brakes well. Has a thunk from right front lower control arm due to someone using a solid urathane bushing on it that's worn oblong inside. No shimmy or shake, car loves 100mph like you wouldnt believe.
It's a blast to drive, pulls good to redline, has the "normal" m20 rough idle, but no funky electircal or EFI stuff at all. Plenty of photos available.
I'd trade it for another interisting euro car, really wanting a Volvo 240 lately. No rust, no accident damage, anything else is possible.
Looking $1500 otherwise.
Thanks..

Still FS as of this moment. I have an offer for a SAAB 9000 turbo in trade. Still considering. |

A motor.
Depends on your luck I guess.
I'm still driving it daily about 500 miles a week. But it's not my only car, and it WILL need a motor eventualy. Piston slap, noisy valves(head with quarter million miles on it). No notable oil usage, 25mpg, good power.
Look into a used motor. |
