I've had my 1988 735I wheels balanced (New Tires) four times and still I have shaking in the fron and it feels like it vibrates from the rear as well.. I noticed this wheel balancing machine listed on another forum question called a GSP9700 Vibration control System...but where do find this service? Also I understand it could be the center bearing? How can I check this component for damage? Plus if any one has any knowledge on suspension maybe I need something done in that area as well. The suspension is getting old...
Thanks for the suppport..this is an incredible web site!!!

If you had the same shop rebalance the tires, you might consider a differant shop?
If you grab hold of the drive shaft at the bearing point and move firmly by hand. Eccesive movement would be a cause of vibration.
I don,t suppose the drive shaft has been out lately? Because, a drive shaft that has been disassembled and then reassembled without proper alighnment would cause a constant vibration. ( I owned a 71 TVR Vixen. And I made this mistake when reassembling the half shafts.) It,s no big deal though. You just pull the shaft and reallign properly and reinstall. No harm done. cheers, rocco |
