We have a 1993 V8 730i in our workshops that the owner purchased a used dme unit for (0261 200 404) same as original part but it has come out of a 530i V8 and the dealer tells us that it is locked to match a 530 so he cannot programme it,our problem is the original is no longer known where abouts and the car goes into TRANS PROGRAMME on the 3-4 shift,can we purchase a new eprom for this and have it then coded or purchase an eprom already programmed to match this vehicle,if so can someone put me in the right direction as we have had this car for nearly 2 yrs and the owner never came back to pay any bills so we now need to get it sorted our and sold.
