Strange thing - My 93 741i V8 has developed an oil leak at the oil filler hole. Oil seems to be forced out as the enging is running. I have checked the cap seal, even replaced the cap. Enought oil is blowing by to drip on the a/c compressor.
Is there a PCV valve or anything else on that motor that could cause the problem?
Thank you!

Does the leak stop if you crack open the oil filler cap? If so, perhaps the "cyclone valve", aka PCV valve, on the back end of the intake manifold, is dirty/gummed up, or broken, and is causing the crankcase to be pressurized.
The valve is designed to maintain a slight vacuum in the crankcase. If you have a vacuum gauge, measure the vacuum at the dipstick tube. S/B 3-6 inches at idle. |
