I'm thinking on going to a 15" set of wheels/tires. Just a good, affordable, durable wheel. I do like the Sumitomo HR tires, 205/55/15.

Input appreciated.

Look at ESM wheels. Made in China but apparently a good wheel for the money and the correct (or close) offset in a 4 lug pattern for the E30.

I have a set of Ronal LS wheels that I will probably take off the car and sell.
I'm thinking of selling the E30 in spring.
I almost bought the ESM's until I stumbled on the Ronals on ebay with a buy it now. Grabbed them right quick because they are rare and hard to find.

Dale has Alpina replicas on his vert.

here's an old thread with some pics of each

I couldn't find the Sumitomo tires in that size.

I have Yokohama S drive and they are OK.
Also, It's getting harder to find 15" tires.

Thanks, beejay. Yes, H rated 14's are getting super-rare. Not even sure I need an H rated tire, but I've had 2 sets of Sumitomos and have been very pleased all around with that brand.

I don't autox, or race, but I will do some "spirited" driving every now and then. The suspension, including subframe bushings, is all in good order at this time. Other than Bilstein HD shocks, and M3 CAbushings, all else is stock.

I appreciate that others put a lot of value in highly modified and expensive wheels, its just not for me.

I think your point about simple is easier to clean is well made. As far as I'm concerned wheels the color of brake dust would be just fine!

What I'm hoping for is a simple bolt on, no spacers, etc.

Thanks... t

i've had ESM's and loved em.

they are hub-centric, and come with correct offsets, so:
zero spacers
zero hub rings.

just wheels, and go.

i also used studs instead of the lugs, b/c it was a track car, and i replaced tires all the time.

btw, the 17's look perfect, and handle perfect. even with the lower sidewalls, (as i too ran the s-drives)... they felt good, plenty of grip, not loud...

one of the track cars setup...(same size tires just staggered wheels)

excuse the pic, but this is one of my cabrio last summer.
they are staggered wheels and are
-medium weight...not ultra light, not heavy at all
-$100 bucks each
-look like much more $
-balance perfect
-hub centric
-correct offsets.

no hub rings to mess with, no spacers... but you want to keep the lugs, you may need the tuner lugs. (studs are worth it if your keeping your car imo).
