Back again with another odd issue.....
If I stand at the rear of the car, the left hand side of the trunk lid has lifted about 1/2 inch above the chassis. Right hand side seats perfectly. If I push up and down on trunk lid, it feels as if the trunk latch has a lot of slop in it and I can get the left hand side to seat, but as soon as I lift my hand off trunk it goes back to 1/2 inch above. Before I replace latch and start to dig deeper into the root cause, I thought I'd, once again, see if anyone else has dealt with this issue and can provide guidance. Thanks all.

There are some little black rubber adjusters at the corners that you can rotate. I can't remember if they are on the bottom side of the trunk lid, or on the body...either way, not hard to spot. IT's in the Bentley manual too. Worth a shot before you begin messing with the latch assembly.

disconnect the trunk shocks (struts) and see if that helps. Maybe it's binding or acting weird.
I replaced mine a while ago because they wouldn't hold the trunk open anymore.

Thanks for the tips - adjusted trunk lid with tips provided and had to use a little elbow-grease to slightly form back into shape....I bet my wife tried to force the lid shut with way too much in the trunk hold area.
As usual, thanks for all the help.
