Hi,
I generally reside on the E30 forum. In the process of selling the E30, so haven't been on recently. I have a neighbor with an 86 L7. Is this the right forum?

It died from lack of use about 5 years ago. Been parked in the carport under a car cover. Is it worth getting road worthy or should he just donate it to a charity for a write off?

Thanks for the help or redirect.

Looks like it's an orphan. Does he have any interest in resurrecting it? Won't be trivial, but doable, depending on why it died.

Or are you interested in it?

The L7 was a model with cosmetic upgrades from stock - lots of leather covering, which, by now, may be crap. It's certainly not a collector car, but was only imported to North America.

The car is an E23, a real tank. It has an M30 engine. It probably has the dreaded TRX tires and wheels, which will require replacement with some proper BMW 15 in wheels and tires.

Thanks Ed,

Not sure what the plan is. May get it running then sell or he may keep it. He liked the car, but his previous mechanic moved away and couldn't afford real shop prices.

Retired now, so time to help...later this fall when the temps make it bearable to be in the garage.
