You can do the conversion, but you need an entire HID kit, not just the bulbs.

I've done this conversion to my Hella H1 and H4 headlights, so I have the Xenon bulbs and ballasts for low beam and high beam. Yes it is very bright!

I did it in a couple of hours, pretty easy. You're basically connecting your headlight wiring to relays, then those relays drive the ballasts, and drive the HID bulbs. Do the high beam first, to get the hang of it, then do the low beam.
That way if you run into any trouble doing the high beam, you can still drive the car around with low beams until you figure it out.
It is really easy, if you've done basic electrical work.
