|
|
On my way to work, noticed the temp climbing and just made it to work as the needle climbed into the red. Found coolant draining from the area below the water pump area at a pretty good rate.
Is there a hose or gasket in the area that could leak in that area or water pump shaft seal done? I feel a slight play in the shaft when I move the fan forward and back and see the pulley moving so the play is not the fan clutch.
Started searching for parts and it seems that genuine water pump not available for 91 M42. Found Saleri OEM with composite impeller at Pelican.
Is that Saleri water pump a good option? |

I am more confident that it is the water pump too. I drove it home last night and I was relieved that I did not see steam out of the tailpipe and I see even more lateral play in the pulley now.
How is the Saleri water pump Pelican lists? It is listed as OEM and is lower priced with a composite impeller.
Thanks! |

I'd go with the Graf... I'll take a well done metal part over plastic stuff, any day! _________________ Cosmo - 1985 BMW 325e, Single Owner, 231,000+ ORIGINAL miles and still going strong!
