This company has developed new seals for the VANOS pistons. Those E39 owners who have replaced them have been very surprised at the restored performance:

BTW, I have no financial connection with them. _________________

Hello, Edjack. I'm going to get the kit these guys talk about pretty soon. I want to talk to you about the overheating issue on the '97 E39 528i I just got for my son. How is the best way to do that?
Thanks
