Several OBD2 code reading tools are available, which one do you use and why? Price? Features? What would you buy now?

Some tools I've bought, or used, or am considering buying:

I bought the Peake tool a couple of years ago, and it's good for reading and clearing codes, but not much other functionality. It will reset the SI (service interval) lights, but there are other cheaper options for that.

Peake Research PR-R5-FCX-3-U R5-FCX3 Universal - BMW Scan Tool 1987 -2006

Peake tool at Amazon:

This is the scan tool I'm using, a friend used to work for the company and had one he could loan me.

AutoXray 6000 at Amazon:

There is also OBD2 software out there that has been customized for BMWs to support decoding the BMW specific codes, this one is software for your laptop with a cable to connect to your OBD2 port:

AutoEnginuity tool at Pelican
