after cleaning back axle, fond the there no rear roll bar Exclamation

good chance there never was.

for some reason, BMW liked to do that on the base model all the way back to the 1600.

But I bet a 318i/is one would fit- I'd hit the breakers' yards...
grab all the related hardware while you're there.
