after eating some fast food while driving and taking a corner, (in the rain) my datsun wagon 510 decided to turn way too far(or rather just kept turning) and never straightened out after i let go of the steering wheel. Well i drove into the curb and threw out the alignment (forever_) which i later sold for about the same cost i paid for it.5hundred...but knowing i had a pretty good savings (for living in poverty) i wanted a convertible...
and testing a "celica, saab, others" i finally drove a 325i...and the rest is history..when i actually see a saab, i laugh..(im implying about the 9 aircraft engineers, who design saab's, they mustve been FIRED or something, b/c the saabs are NOT fun to drive..
so i set out finding all the BMW's for sale. and drove them all. then just found more about these cars that i liked...the way the roof stores away, the handling, the speed, comfort, and more handling, safety, sound, more handling, luxery features, the ellipsiod lights, cruise control, power windows, shorter shifter than any other cars, etc.
i did even drive a 94 328i (or something, maybe a 330)and funny, it was not as tight..and twice as much cost.
so i chose this one, and ive never been the same...it started at sale for 9k, then dropped to 7.9k, then after some reasoning, i got it for almost half that (in cash)...it was during the "NO INTEREST" times and the used lots were full, and also it was mid winter, the best time to buy any car, especially a cabrio..
s
well, i had images here, but they got lost on the net, and i have basically never been so into tuning any cars...
this e30 is just a dream to drive and easy to upgrade..
i seriously considered installing a turbo, wastegate, etc, but its already as fast as i need it to be. and i am planning on installing a freeflow cat+exhaust soon...(hopefully)...
ive learned everything ive done with that car from THIS BB...so
T H A N K Y O U ... w/out the pc, it would be bone stock. _________________

Dude, can you get a decent digi camera??
I know you have put MUCHO work into your E30, but those pics are terrible.
Help us out here, and get a camera with image stabilization!!!
And take pics during the day with a decent background.
New pics! |

You have quite a bit of work in that, huh?
Why are the headers a different color now? _________________

some would say, not enough work yet. (like me).
but hey,
all that i give to this car, i get back in diamonds and hearts.
and the headers did change to a dull tone.
something that IE said wouldNT happen (maybe after years), but with my upcoming turbo setup, i will have to remove those headers soon anyways.
i would recomend the full version of headers btw, b/c one of the flanges sets up very close to the firewall, and is a pita to tighten-fix.
i recently added locking washers and nylon locking nuts too, (except for that hard to thread bolt )...
anyways.
i just got a LSD diff (going in soon) and also some new rubber parts for the top.
re-upholstery maybe next...i want a custom rear seat for the bmwfest. _________________

well. its been a while and my recent upgrades are
4.10 LSD
ground control coil-overs
spare wheel molded sub woofer cabinet (not in yet)
re-painted the ellipsiod rings the same color as the body
blacked out the entire grill
bypassed the c191 plug, and remapped-tested all wires.
c191 plug
my rear wheels at stock height
front wheels at stock height
wheels come off.
install, x4
and after more than 18months this regular paint on the brake calipers held up. krylon metalic reds and the Dupont blue of my car- "cirrus blua."
returns to land
the sandwich shot (the bmws )
slight evidence on whats in there.

thanks .
me too, i did all this in a tiny basement tool room and in the shade of my apt. bldng.
the original (stock) pic of my engine bay.
notice the area on the intake plenum that is polished from the hood insulator just rubbing on it.
and my 3d linux desktop simlutaneousely on 1 machine (plus running M.S. xp in virtualbox) ( thats 4 o.s.'s on one processor..) just for testing and fun

thanks, and passion and boredom go hand in hand...( i had no car for quite a while, so i took my time).
heres some updated photos
got a new(used) Reiger body kit..
started out very heavy, and over painted with undercarraige crap.
sanded all that away, and looked like this. (repained w/flat black, and resanded multiple times)
painted it 3 times w/my cirrusblua stuff i got at wesco...
recent air intake leaks (gaskets are 2y.o. and failed), maybe overtightened.
and cyl.port #6...(was the loudest)
intake, all by itself, (i know..barely in focus) and we cannot see the tiny bend for the porting that gives a wopping 3hp max....
my g.f.'s new Piloti's...
now, running mandriva 2008.1
all too easy to NOW make the desktop to spin in a "transparent" state (i can make it invisible, but i like the shading), and even movie playback keeps going in reverse or any other way i distort the "display"...(want to use linux- pm me, i can mail you DVD'S or Links)...
below is a pentagon shape (not like my prev setup of 4 usable sides, i can now have up to 38 sides and 2 sets of "cubes" )
MELTED some plug wires,
so I :
checked the valve clearences
bent my feeler guages
replaced my seat shocks
repaired the faulty brackets used (but, well see how long they last again)
my kitchen skyline.
and later
