So I just realized I started posting here on this site without the formal introduction thread (how rude of me) My name is Nic and I picked up a 1990 325i convertible about a month ago. Her name is (still) Arianna (last owner named it, I agree with the name) and she was garaged her whole life until now (now I use an OEM car cover when not driving her, and she gets the parking garage at work). Right now She needs a new top, and I need to find a place/time to do the rear brakes (PO gave me the new brembo rotors, pads, sensors, and fluid) and the front bushings. Other than that she looks pretty sexy. Mods include a Dinan chip to go with the Mustang injectors and larger MAF. She's also lowered on Bilsteins and handles like a dream. The only other mod I'm looking to do is a stereo upgrade (she has the premium system and a 12-disc changer in the back, but I'm going to try a new head unit and bypassing the factory amp). Here are a few pics - there wasn't a lot of room in the driveway so hopefully I'll finda more scenic place with more space to take better pics (these are pretty much s - sorry)
I look forward to learning from/adding to all the awesome contributions on the board!

Larry would say that...
weclome to the bb. and awesome catch.
i like the sony (red face/ ) head units (almost perfect color match to dash lights) i have an mp3 player, but i think i will get the cd changer for the trunk soon (better sounds) as i do notice a drop in quality on mo3s.
your so lucky to find a 5speed cabrio, and in that condition too. congratulations. _________________ .......... |

its like yours, except with Sony the whole display is all redl
the led face is also red
although i DO love ALPINE and always will, i got the sony for 2 reasons (3 if you count price @115 ea.)
i have 2 cars (1 bmw/ 1 truck) and therefore, 2 identical head units, and use 1 faceplate *and keep other as backup)
toyotas (as you may know) have green dash lights, and this unit can do both green and red ...
i will t00k some pix tonight..

Oh I definitely love the look of the red screen - it's like it was meant for BMW's! Right now I'm rolling with an Alpine tape player. It's old, I don't think it's stock, and it only sounds good when I plug in my ipod and use it for the volume control... Once I figure out the housing situation (buying one right now) then I'm going to have to upgrade the stereo asap. _________________ 1990 325i (Arianna) |

You both make me jealous. 5 speed...
Anyway, welcome, VA is a great state, wish I still lived there... but alas, I am landlocked in Oklahoma.
Congrats on the car, she is beautiful, and the name is very fitting....
I am actually looking to lower mine to that depth as well, I wonder if that is 1.5" or 2"?
You know M78, I find it funny that in my coupe, my gas and temp gauges are on the opposite sides of your, AND, I don't have a digital odometer... mine is the older style.
Wonder if I could switch out my instrument cluster so I had digital. Going to have to look that one up!

M78: And then I noticed your is 1990, not a 91 like my brain kept trying to tell me.
Bang. Dream might be a little exploded...

That's more than 2.0". Mine is 2.5" and it's not even close to being that low.
And actually that first pic is not even my car.
That's someone in google with my stereo!
Is it even an E30? _________________ Lachssilber Metallic 203 1988 325i sedan with 200,xxx miles

i noticed the different dash, but thought it was a e36...(who knows)
and that IS my car, you notice the "bmw" in the readout, and it was taken at exactly 69 degrees @!!!!!
its funny, any (every) other color literally "screams" at my eyes, and when i cylced through them all (has 7 or more) the only one that went completely un-annoying was the red...
even at bright settings, the red tone is so easy on the eyes...every other color jumps at me... _________________ .......... |

OK< M78, your dashboard is driving me crazy. I like the look, but everyone I have chatted with says you just HAVE to be driving an e36.... spill the beans, is that one of "those" cars?
Idanity, I like that dash layout. I have a Pioneer, and it is green, standard. I think I am going to pull it out and get me the sony, which model is that?
