As most of you know my black 325ic was stolen on May 11th.
I haven't had any luck with recovery of the car, and didn't really
expect to, so I started shopping for another one soon after it was stolen.

I bought a '92 325ic, white with blue interior.
5speed, heated seats, totally stock inside and out,
all original sheetmetal, only 87k miles on it.

I had found a few others that were maybe a little nicer in
CA, but this was only 30 miles away so decided to go for it.

Work so far:
- timing belt, no evidence of when it was done last, so did this asap
- water pump
- plugs, cap, rotor
- coolant flush
- A/C R134a conversion
- came with bottle caps and older rubber with plenty of tread but hard as a rock
- new kopi wheels/tires on order, hope to have them on by the weekend
- after I get the wheels on I'll take some pics and get them online

Work to-do:
- install new top
- front suspension maint, July 4th project
- all the ball-joints, tie rods are tight, but the boots are cracked on
all of them, so they won't last.
- upgrading suspension and will replace control arms/tie-rods at the same time.

This car doesn't need nearly as much work as the black one did when I
got it, but almost any 16 year old car will require some work when
you buy it.

Looks great! When I bought my car, I wasn't wild about the blue interior, but I bought it anyway because the interior was in such mint shape. Since then, it has really grown on me. It's much cooler than black on a hot day, and it doesn't show every little speck of dirt like tan.

I love the car Dale, and because I have Pacific Blue interior, I'm partial to your interior too!

It's lovely. Congrats bud!

It's my twin sister, sweet.
If you need any blue leather I have extra from having the rear seat repaired.

Daniel: no I didn't buy the iX at the picnic, that was a $3k car that he wanted $5.5k for, and I don't need yet another e30 right now.

Guys, thanks, I'm glad to have a cabrio again, and I really like this
white/blue and that it has a 5speed.

Still working on the insurance claim, mainly me spending the time
to document the work done to the car that is slowing down the claim.

The A/C is working great, now gotta do a few more things to make
it the ultimate weekend driver, commuter mobile.

Wife and I drove up to Chuck-a-nut drive in Bellingham this weekend,
beautiful weather, just cruised, got 27.5mpg! Pretty happy with that.

Dale

If you're super worried about theft (and if I were you, I would be) either garage the car or, if you have no garage, pull the coil wire at night and take it with you. Takes a second and makes the car theft proof unless the thief happens to carry a coil wire with him.

This car will live in the garage when at home.

Some pics, just playing around at this point, none that good yet:
http://www.unofficialbmw.com/92_325ic/

This shows the stock ride height with the new 15" Kopi/Alpina wheels
I'm going to try out some E30 M3 springs and see what that does to the
ride height.

I think this is a nice pic, but the angle makes that front gap look huge!
