HI
-well, just a few questions. as were entering the best time to work on cars.
should i build the specE30 1st, and get on the track
or
If i build the pro3, will i not be able to race in the specE30 SERIES
granted i would have to settle on H&R springs (not coilovers) _________________

idanity,
you could spend the $700 for the h&r springs and shocks, and race in pro3, but it wouldn't be as fast as running the GC coilovers and koni adjustable shocks, and there isn't a spece30 class in the PNW area.
You can pickup whatever sport suspension pieces your want and spend the first year just making sure your car is solid and learning a lot about driving.
Once you have a dozen races under your belt you'll be more competitive and be able to use the extra speed that having a coilover setup will give you.
Upgrade the driver first as the old saying goes.
Get a dedicated hard top e30 325i and start going to driving events that the local clubs put on, after a year or two of that, upgrading your e30 as you go, you'll be ready to go all the way and strip the interior and add a cage and go racing.

thanks.
that is my plan. i know i have to take the driving courses, and haveing a hardtop is just the beginning.
i dont need another daily driver, so this will be as cheap as i can go, while spending on the safety equipment (i think) will be the best investments (*like your water suit, fire extinguishing, etc) .
ive got a 90 325i (tb fatatlity) for really cheap, and im just prepping it to get rolling again (after i find a motor to rebuild).
so, to sum up, i should keep it road-legal till i have the training _________________
