okay, just finished replacing all four rotors and pads. Great work, and I'm glad I did it myself. I can't stand the dealer, especially when they give you the "certified BMW mechanic" speech for something as simple as brakes. Anyway, I put on the new pad sensor wires, but the brake pad warning light is now on in the instrument cluster. I have checked the connections on both ends of the wires, turned the key to number 2 position for 2 minutes, and even disconnected the negative battery cable in the hopes of resetting the light. Does anyone have another idea? Does the dealer have to reset this?

Make sure the pins inside the connectors are not bent.
If still on then you have to leave the ignition in on possition for up to 2 hours, for the light to go off

Will check for bent pins, good suggestion thanks. 2 hours in the on position - will that drain the battery?
