Hello,
My engine light came on the other day, along with several other lights on the dashboard (abs, parking brakes). I didn't realize that my gas cap wasn't tighten, until I filled up at the station. Anyways, the other lights have gone away, except for the engine light.

Any suggestions on how serious this could be? Do I need to bring it to the dealer ASAP. The car just hit the 100,00 KM.

Thanks,
Qjody

If all the lights came on at the same time, then Check Engine Light is caused by the open tank gas cap. All you need is OBDII scanner to reset the light. There is no damage driving with the Engine Light on unless it was triggered by the other problem.
Dealer may charge you big money to reset the light but I wouldn't know how it is in Canada.

I recently had all the lights on the dash begin to light up, and then change colors progressively from yellow to red. Soon after I was on the side of the highway with a dead battery and alternator.

Check that the batt and alt are functioning as expected.
