Turn the key all the way, 90 deg from vertical. There is some resistance, but there is a mechanical link between the key and the lcok, so you will be able to unlock the driver's door mechanically. _________________

Go to the passenger side, lift up the handle, while turmning the key 45 degrees clockwise. if it opens you will have to synchronize the locks. I forgot how to do that. _________________ Ed from TO |

Can't you use the key in the lock of the trunk? Turn it through 90 deg and then push the button (or am I thinking of another model?).
It's been a while since I had an E34 |

that works also, but sometimes it didn't.
Some guys mentioned opening the trunk, and going thru the ski luggage bag with a long tool to pop the lock button on the door. _________________ Ed from TO |
