Seattle had another Once-In-A-Decade wind storm, 75mph winds knock over a lot of trees, take out power and cable (internet connection!!), and smash houses.
We lost power for 4 days, cable/internet for 7 days and were running low on patience after the 3rd day. We used up a lot of candles, had a bunch of matches and flashlights stored up (from Y2K )
Mary Jo made chocolate center ganache by candle-light.
And we lost half the shingles on our roof, yikes!
Several of our neighbors lost trees from the wind, one just hit the edge of a neighbors house. An old willow tree split in half, blocking the alley and laying on the power/phone/cable lines.
Some friends of ours had a tree or 3 crash into their house, smashing walls, roofs, impaling beds with branches. Fortunately the ones with the worst damage had the forsight to ride out the storm in a hotel.
