Hi...

I have a close frind who's wife has an 86 325es. The bumper cover on the right side is trashed. i looked on eBay and found a few for the right side rear, but they show as incompatible for his model. Is there something different about the es's bumper? He needs the right rear side cover with the thin long light...

Bumper surrounds, 84/85 have the more-square running lights, aprox 3x4
The 86-88 have more-rectangular running lights, something like 1.5"x5"

Also the early 84/85 have a different mounting style vs the later ones.
If that wasn't enough, the rear '88 rubber surround is unique to all the '88s, and the cabrios from 1988-1990, it's longer, just like the newer plastic bumper is longer.

Don't try to swap, between styles, it's not worth the hassle.
You can clean these up alot with sanding and black bumper paint.
