Hey, we haven't done this in a while. Have you got good pictures? Here's my favorite so far from the race last weekend at Pacific Raceways here in Seattle. I've got this one over my desk now!

Turn 3a, sharply downhill RH hairpin

Hey Tom,

Yes, nicest looking E30 race car I've seen to date!

I saw it about a year ago at the vintage races at SIR when it was all fresh (not raced yet)and I was amazed at the quality and detail.

I just bought a '91 318is for a driver, and my dad bought and just got the motor back together, an '89 325is track car. Looking forward to getting some seat time in it.

BTW, I love the 330i CHP package cars too!

That is great, I used to have a die-cast aluminum porsche jagermeister race car, but that is a beautiful e30.... beautiful.

I was down at the BMW parts dept the other day and saw a die cast of this exact car paint&decal details. Didn't ask how much they go for though.

Yup, I've got one! We actually used that model to get the vinyl right. Notice we never *quite* got it completely finished. The hood's still missing it's Jagermeister. We're in the process of building car #2 this winter. It's in bits all over Bill's garage. I'll post some pics when we do something interesting. Right now it's getting caught up on 10 years of deferred maintenance.

To be perfectly honest - that car's actually Bill Spornitz's and I race it in a second class. I've put so much work into it, I feel a lot of love towards it though! We've decided we need to race head-to-head now, so we're building up an '87 325is for me this winter. We're going to paint that one to match the '91 BTCC Listerine car.

Tom, no pressure - but if you ever get a chance, I'd love to see a close-up pic of your rear side glass (plexiglass) and rear plexiglass

OK, no problem. I'll see what I can dig up. It's Lexan by the way. Much more impact resistant and easier to work with.

Here's a picture of one of the windows newly installed. Man, that paint looked nice when it was new.....

We did it by removing all of the window hardware, and painting the whole area black. The lexan is attached to the body pinch-weld, so it's fairly inset. We made the rough cut to the Lexan with the original window as the template, and then did the small adjustments to get it to fit with a belt sander. Once it fit right, we used 3M strip caulk as the seal and pop-rivetted it in place.

Here's the best picture I've got of the rear window install.

This one is really simple. It's a big piece of lexan cut to the same size/shape as the rear window and installed using the original gasket. The reinforcement so that it doesn't blow out is 1" aluminum stock pop-rivetted to the body
