I know that performance gains can be achieved by popping a chip in the ECU of a 325, but does the same hold true for the mighty 4-banger of the e30 family?

I don't believe so. A local 318 racer was able to up the rev limit by some creative work with resistors, but I think you are out of luck. His car is an '84 or '85, so you may have more options if you have a '91, but I don't know for sure. Hope this helps.

Thanks.
It is the 84-85 model I am referring to.

Sage, of 'Unsage Racing' is the guy who races the '84 318i and modified his LJet control box.
His site is here http://www.unsage.com/
Send him an email and ask for his article on it, I didn't see it on his site.

Dale

Dale,

Could you send me his email address offline?

It doesn't load on his webpage when I view it from my computer.

Thanks.
