As I've stated I'm planning on building my E30 into a Spec E30 racer over the next year if all things go as planned.

I'm going to be takling the suspension and all it's components first, and was wondering if H & R race springs along with the Bilstien Sport shocks will be too much for driving back and forth to the track. I eventually will have a trailer, but untill then, I will be driving the car to each event.

If you are building a dedicated race car that you still want to drive on the street. Only too and from events. Sure, go for it.

Hint, drop tire pressure to 30 for the drive, much cushier then 36psi.

If you plan on commuting in the car, I'd have serious doubts about that idea.

I agree with Dale. I have the exact setup in my car, and it isn't too harsh at all. I drive my car to the track all the time (>200 miles each way) and have made several trips to Phoenix.

Actually, I should say that the suspension alone will not make the ride that harsh. Once I added strut / shock tower braces & a roll cage, the extra stiffening resulted in a much more jostling ride. It still isn't so harsh as to make a trailer mandatory, though, in my opinion. My dog might disagree, though - he doesn't seem to sleep as well in the e30 vs. my e39.

Thanks guys! No I don't drive the car everyday. It's just something to mess around with and take to the track and local auto-x. Although my Porsche's have been pretty invious of all the time I spend with the BMW.
