I just purchased a 2002 4.6is X5. Let me tell ya, this is one bad machine. 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. The exhaust is one of the best sounding I have had in Bimmers. Kudos to BMW for there new monster. Im glad Im the first in Chattanooga, TN to be driving one!!
See ya
Ed

I have been anxiously waiting for the 4.6i to come out and yesterday, I got to test drive one. Positive Impressions: Great pickup…much faster than 4.4i. Very comfortable. Nice powerful engine noise when accelerating hard. Otherwise fairly quiet.

Negative Impressions: Steering wheel cuts off view of top of gauges for me...I'm 6'5". Gauge color is bland gray. Wood is pretty dark against black interior. Would have preferred lighter wood against the black interior. Exterior styling changes are rather bland.

After my test drive, I had mixed feelings and am a little less interested in the car. I need to think about its pros and cons before deciding what to do.
