I have a '97 M3 which up until the past few months has worked flawlessly. For some reason whenever I turn on the a/c, a loud whineing sound comes from the engine compartment. I'm not sure if I just need it recharged, or if I need to get a new belt or what.

Also, I just had my coolant refilled this spring and about 3 days later my OBC said to check coolant level again. Whenever I pulled the windshield wiper fluid lever to clean my windshield, a pugnant odor would come out of the a/c vents and eventually stop. I'm not sure if the smell was antifreeze or what but my coolant tank is now empty again! Thanks for any advice you guys can give!
