Hello everyone,

I recently purchased my first BMW. I just got a 2000 323Ci.

Question 1: How do I know if I have an E30, E36, or E46?

Question 2: How difficult is it to install a factory alarm this car? Instructions would be helpful if it is possible.

The "E" numbers denote different model years. Yours is an E46. The engine is an M50, or an M50TU if VANOS.

Don't know about alarm systems. Did yours not come with one?
