I recently purchased a 2000, 328iC with 40K miles that is in very
good shape. However, the door handles on both doors (passenger side
especially) do not engage easily. The passenger side feels like it
is out of alignment and needs adjusting. It takes a good yank to get it to open. I took it to the dealer
and was told that they just needed to be lubed (which they did) and
that over time they would free up. They haven't yet.
Has anyone else had this issue? How was it resolved?

I've got the same year, same model and had some sticking of the door handle on the passenger side as well. Very annoying. Sometimes it would stick in the open position. Not very BMW like. Had it lubed and it slowly went away. |

I have exactly the same problem, a drop of wd40 on both sides on the part that slides in to the door usually does the trick, if you oil them remember to clean the muck off first, its very annoying as the door often doesn't close properly or make a terrible banging noise on closure,
All the best

Thanks for the replies. I'll give the WD-40 a try. |
